After making the decision to open up 1209 Creative to the Midwestern wedding scene, I am not sure that I could have asked for a better couple and vendor team to work with for this beautiful, and 1209’s first, Milwaukee wedding at The Ivy House. I have been so grateful for those I have worked with in Madison so far, and to be able to work in another group of wonderful people in another cool city made me smile so big!
During my first meeting with the bride, Elizabeth, she stated that they wanted the overall design to be something minimal yet still made a statement. The couple wanted to see a lot of texture with ferns and greenery, along with a pop of toffee within their clean, neutral color palette. And let me just say, the Toffee Rose we opted for stole ALL of our hearts.

Below image: We were thrilled that the couple wanted to have a statement welcome design for their guests to enjoy as soon as they entered the ceremony space. Again, the couple wanted to see a lot of greenery, so to really give this some fullness and variation of shades of green we combined tree fern, flat fern, bay laurel, lemon leaf and plumosa (and we added in a few extra scabiosa pods just for fun)..
Above image: We lined the aisle with the fern designs (a combination of tree fern, flat fern, bay laurel, and lemon leaf), and we repurposed these for the reception table centerpieces. This is such a great way to minimize both waste and cost!
