Historic Charm Meets Modern Chic: A Stunning May Wedding at Milwaukee's Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum

Nestled on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum is the perfect blend of old-world charm and modern elegance. This historic Italian Renaissance-style villa provides a stunning backdrop for a romantic wedding, and this celebration was nothing short of breathtaking.

With a minimalist yet chic design, the wedding decor let the natural beauty of the venue shine. Soft, dainty bud vases with assorted pink ranunculus, Coral Charm peony, lavender iris, and peach garden roses decorated the reception space, adding a pop of color to the villa’s warm, historic tones. The gardens—lush and serene—offered an intimate setting for the couple’s first look photos and family portraits.

As the sun set over the lake, guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening filled with love, laughter, and good vibes all around. As the evening came to a close, the couple made a grand exit in true vintage style, driving off in a classic 560 SL Mercedes-Benz. This wedding was a perfect blend of historic elegance, modern romance, and meaningful personal touches.

Timeless Elegance: Chic Minimalist White Wedding Flowers at Madison's Blackhawk Country Club

Let’s talk about a vibe we’re all loving right now: chic minimalism + monochromatic white blooms. Whether you're planning your dream wedding, hosting a dinner party, or curating an intimate brunch, white florals set the perfect tone for a minimalistic and sophisticated atmosphere.

For Bridget and Andrew’s micro-wedding, we sourced locally grown dahlias and paired them with dainty white ranunculus and Playa Blanca roses. We designed the centerpieces in matte white ceramic vessels, and then added in some height using tall, wispy stems of Queen Anne’s Lace.

We also provided simple taper candle decor and pleated glass holders for tea lights, which went nicely with the crisp white linens, silver flatware, and white dinnerware. As the sun set, the gentle glow of the candlelight made the space feel undeniably romantic. The beauty of minimalistic styling is that is keeps the overall aesthetic feeling more intentional and effortless.
